Foolish perhaps to worry - or not to

The scorpion will do what it does and I will do
what I do, whatever that is now

Sitting, longing, imagining a future here, perhaps,
but more realistically, a past, in another time,
another tongue

Here, I have been bitten by history from behind,
like the sting of the scorpion's tail,
hidden but ever present
