Creative Writing Workshops Writing can be a lonely enterprise - but we all have something important to say. These workshops provide a safe place in which to explore your creativity through writing exercises (using photography, music, poetry, objects, or other stimuli) and guided meditations. A great way to kick-start your creativity or get out of a block. Half day and full day workshops available. Writing the Story of Your Life Based on the popular program by Dan Wakefield, this workshop provides participants with the tools they'll need to create a "spiritual autobiography." Dealing with childhood and adolescence, mentors, and other influences, it combines memory, writing, and simple drawing to help participants create a roadmap of their journey. Full day program. Poetry As Sacred Practice What do poets have to say to us as people of faith? How can we use poetry in our spiritual practices? The Benedictines have shown us, through a process of lectio divina, how careful reading and meditating on poetry can lead to deeper understandings. Featuring the work of poets from around the world, this program also includes time for participant writing and reflection. Full day program. |
How
to Save Your Life With Writer Natalie Goldberg says, "Listen to the past, the future, and the present right where you are." That's what the practice of keeping a journal can do for you. This day-long workshop shows participants how to benefit from a journal: writing from dreams, from daily life events, from meditations, from readings and other art forms. Full day program. 8-Week Writing Groups - All-Poetry or Mixed Genre Groups Weekly classes include writing exercises, sharing, and gentle group manuscript critiquing. Available by request.
